It has a special fluorescence, hence the name, which glows blue or purple under ultraviolet light.
Represents a rather strong and precise archetype, albeit in a variety of different shades: its clarity and dreamy colours make it the ideal symbol of inspiration and insight, indeed it's called the 'Genius stone'.
